Using Vi editor

To me vi is Zen.
To use vi is to practice zen.
Every command is a koan.
Profound to the user, unintelligible to the uninitiated.
You discover truth everytime you use it.

So I wrote many many years ago in a newsgroup
(during the editor wars).  I was working for the big blue
then.   I was new to zen, I was new to Unix and hence
new to vi.   I am still "new" to zen :-) !    I liked the terseness
of zen koans and terseness of the commands in vi/vim editor.

Few days ago, I did a search on zen and I found this quote
has been used by some in their sig files.  I was pleased
to see  this has been quoted at many places and I am also glad
to see this has been quoted in the Oreilly's book Learning Vi
Editor.
